Keep your lights on.
Booklyn turns your semester into a city at night. Study a unit, pass a short check on your own material, and a window lights up. Let a week slide and it slowly fades.

Try it: tap a floor that is not lit, answer the question, then fast-forward a week.

How it works
Your degree is the city, a semester is a district, a module is a building and each teaching unit is a floor.
Add your material
Drop PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files or whole folders. Booklyn suggests the right module and week from the file name, and you confirm. Files stay in your browser.
Study a floor
Open the week, read, keep notes and use the focus timer. No streak to lose in one bad day.
Pass the check
Short questions are made from your own files, on your device. Pass and the light goes on, and a guest moves in who pays you rent in coins.
The rules in 30 seconds
Everything for a real semester
Set up in minutes, then it stays out of your way.
Study
Questions from your files
Fill-in and multiple-choice questions are generated on your device from your slides and scripts. Optional AI questions are off until you turn them on.
Smart file sorting
Booklyn reads the module code and week number in file names. Duplicates are recognised by content and skipped.
Notes and focus timer
Keep a note per week and study in timed blocks, then go straight to the check.
Stay on track
Deadlines
Exams, tests and hand-ins sit next to your city, and the next one shows up first.
Live countdowns
Every lit floor shows how long it stays on, and the rent timer shows when you are paid next.
ILIAS connector
An optional browser extension finds new files on HSLU ILIAS and adds them with one click. Nothing is uploaded.
Make it yours
Decorate the city
Trees, lamps, pools, fountains, rooftop gardens and helipads, paid with coins you earn.
Seasons
Switch a district to autumn, cherry blossom, snow or desert.
Guests with names
Every lit floor has a guest. Zoom in and meet them.
Private and portable
Local first
Files, notes and progress live in your browser. Install it as an app and study offline.
Sync without email
Optional sync uses a secret code, not an email or a password. Lose the code and nobody, including us, can get your progress back.
Backup and delete
Export your progress any time, or delete everything with one button.
ILIAS files, one click
The optional connector works in Edge and Chrome on a computer. It uses your own HSLU sign-in, lists the files it finds and lets you add the ones you want.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. There are no ads, no subscriptions and no real-money purchases.
Who can see my files?
Only you. Files are stored in your browser on your own device and are never uploaded. If you turn on sync, only your progress is stored, never your files.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in any modern phone browser, and you can install it to your home screen. The ILIAS connector needs a computer with Edge or Chrome.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After the first visit it opens without a connection. Sync catches up when you are back online.
What if I lose my sync code?
It cannot be recovered, because we store only a one-way hash of it. Your data on your device is untouched. Write the code down somewhere safe.
Is the AI reading my files?
Not by default. Questions are generated on your device. If you switch on the optional AI setting, short excerpts of the unit you are checking are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to write questions, and are not stored.
Is this an official HSLU app?
No. Booklyn is an unofficial student project and is not affiliated with HSLU.
